NAPS Announces 2016 Award Winners

DAWSONVILLE, GA (October 12, 2016) – NAPS, the National Association of Personnel Services, the nation's leading search, recruiting, and staffing industry educator and oldest industry association, proudly announced their 2016 Award Winners during their recent annual conference in Las Vegas, NV at the Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino. The awards ceremony recognized and honored three distinguished individuals who have given back to our industry and profession. In addition to the awards given during the ceremony, two other awards were given to NAPS leaders during the NAPS Board of Directors meeting to acknowledge the stellar work provided by two individuals on the NAPS board and leadership team.

 

Terri A. Roeslmeier, President and CEO of Automated Business Designs, was awarded the Shero Award. “I am humbled and honored to receive the Shero Award from the National Association of Personnel Services.” said Terri. “NAPS is a fantastic organization with amazing leadership and strong membership that ABD feels privileged to be a part of. We very much enjoy the benefits of membership and have met many wonderful staffing industry professionals through the organization. Thank you NAPS for this cherished award.”

 

Mel Weinberg, was awarded the Norbert I.B. Fried Ethics Award. The Norbert I.B. Fried Ethics Award was created to recognize those individuals who have made a significant, positive, and lasting impact on the ethics of the staffing industry.

 

The Harold B. Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Judy Collins, of Evergreen Contract Resources. This award recognizes an individual who has most distinguished herself in the course of a lifetime of service to the private placement industry. In regards to her award, Ms. Collins said, “I am so grateful to have received the Harold B. Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. It is an unforgettable honor.” 

 

In addition to these three awards handed out during the NAPS Annual Conference awards ceremony, two other awards were given to two very deserving professionals. Tom Erb with Tallann Resources, NAPS District 3 Director, received the Chairman’s District Director Award for his hard work and dedication to his district through 2016.

 

Lastly, a very special and new award/scholarship was created and presented to Dr. Frank Burtnett. NAPS, in recognizing his long tenure as Education Consultant to the association, has created the “Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship” that will be awarded annually to an emerging professional at a member firm in the search and staffing industry. The scholarship is intended to support that recipient’s achievement of professional certification and participation in the NAPS annual conference and Certification Immersion Class.

 

It is an honor to have my work connected to a scholarship that will enhance the personal career development of an emerging member of the search and staffing industry. I look forward to seeing the Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship awarded for the first time at the 2017 NAPS Conference in Denver.” Dr. Burtnett said in receiving this new honor.
