Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship

Purpose

The Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship has been created to support the professional development of a search and staffing professional at a member firm in earning NAPS certification and participating in the educational activities of the annual association national conference.

 

Eligibility

Applicants must have worked in the industry for one year at a member firm and have the pledge of their owner/manager that their participation (travel, lodging and per diem expenses) in the scholarship program will be subsidized by the firm.

 

Process

Applicants will write a short (250 words maximum) essay or statement on their desire to seek NAPS certification (CPC or CTS) and how they feel earning this credential will improve and extend their ability to serve candidates and clients and extend their personal career development. Each application must include a separate endorsement from the firm owner/manager that the individual's participation in the scholarship program will be sponsored.

 

Scholarship

Each year one individual, who is a current NAPS member, will be selected to receive the Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship which will include the following:

 

a) Complimentary individual registration for the NAPS annual conference

b) Complimentary registration for CPC or CTS certification, including training manual and examination fee

c) Complimentary registration for the on-site Certification Immersion Class

d) Placement of recipient name on a personalized certificate (to be awarded at a conference session/luncheon) and on a NAPS plaque for conference display.

 

Calendar

NAPS will begin accepting applications for the 2017 Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship on Monday, January 2, 2017. Applicants must direct an email to tcunningham@naps360.org that includes the following:

 

1. Personal statement as to why the applicant is seeking NAPS certification and how he/she believes the CPC or CTS credential will enhance and extend their capabilities as an industry professional. Applicants must have been active in the search and staffing industry for at least one full year. This statement should not exceed 250 words.

 

2. All applications for the scholarship must include a statement by the owner/manager of the applicant that the firm will provide travel, lodging and per diem expenses to the Denver NAPS Conference if she/he is the Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship winner.

 

3. All applications will be acknowledged within 48 hours by return email.

 

4. Applications for the 2017 scholarship must be received by February 28, 2017.

Applications will be reviewed by a team of NAPS certificate holders and an announcement as to the 2017 recipient will be made in late March. Questions about the Frank Burtnett Education Scholarship should be emailed to tcunningham@naps360.org.
